DUE TO AN UNPRECEDENTED NUMBER OF BOOK RESTORATION COMMISSIONS RECEIVED IN RECENT MONTHS, I CURRENTLY HAVE QUITE A LARGE BACKLOG OF UNCOMPLETED WORK. I HAVE RELUCTANTLY TAKEN THE DECISION TO STOP ACCEPTING NEW COMMISSIONS UNTIL I HAVE WORKED THROUGH THIS BACKLOG. I AM STILL HAPPY TO RESPOND TO NEW ENQUIRIES AND PROVIDE QUOTATIONS FOR REPAIRS, BUT FEEL IT UNLIKELY THAT I WILL BE ABLE TO TAKE ON ANY NEW WORK UNTIL AT LEAST LATE JULY 2021. IF YOU ARE HAPPY TO WAIT UNTIL LATER IN THE YEAR TO HAVE YOUR BOOK RESTORED, THEN PLEASE DO MAKE CONTACT AND SEND ME SOME PHOTOGRAPHS AS DETAILED BELOW AND I WILL REPLY TO YOUR ENQUIRY AS SOON AS I CAN.

Visit in person
You can bring the book over for me to look at in person. This service is available by prior arrangement only. Just give me a call or send me an email to arrange a specific date and approximate time of arrival. When we meet, I will have a good look at your book, suggest a course of action and give you a no-obligation quote.
How it works from there
Confirm by email that you would like to proceed with the repair.
Arrange to get the book to me. This can either be in person or by post. If posting your book, I always advise that you use a tracked postal service such as Royal Mail ‘special delivery’.
Once I have repaired your book, I will send you some photographs of the repairs.
At this point I ask that you settle payment which will also include the cost of return postage via a tracked service.
Payment can be made by BACS transfer, Paypal transfer or personal cheque.
Once I have received your payment, I will pack and post your book back to you. I will send you confirmation of the tracking details.
If you would like to proceed with the repair, just leave your book with me. You will receive a receipt for the book detailing the work we have agreed and the quoted price.
I will contact you once the work is completed. We can then arrange a convenient opportunity for you to collect your book.
I ask that you settle payment either in advance of your return, or in person when you collect the book.
